Laxenburg Children’s Party
The Party is called “Fun and games of the Habsburgs” and offers a jungle adventure, a journey into the Baroque period and the rediscovery of old games played by the Habsburg princesses and the Crown Prince.
Date: 17 August 2014/ 10 am – 5 pm
Location: Laxenburg Castle Gardens
Try to discover Laxenburg Castle Gardens with its huge forest and very old trees, a former hunting ground of the emperor. 150 years ago Empress Sisi stayed there after her marriage with emperor Franz Josef and she loved to ride on her horse through the woods. Large meadows invite for a picnic. Kids love this place due to a big playground, the scenic train and the pony wagon, which may be rented to get around the large park to the Castle.
Inside Castle Franzensburg is a restaurant on an island which can be reached by ferry or by a 30 minutes walk from the other side. Guided tours through the castle with English audio-guides are possible every hour. Why not rent a boat and experience the Franzensburg from the water or observe the birds on the islands?
