Carnival at Lake Traunsee
On 6 February 2016 (Shrove Saturday), foolish children bounce before the adults in Ebensee. On Shrove Sunday, the full-grown fools enjoy the great carnival parade called “Hatschertaler Faschingsumzug”. However, this is only a prelude to the “furious Fetzenzug” on Shrove Monday; the day does not end until Tuesday morning. In 2011, the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage status was granted to the Ebenseer Fetzenzug.
