In August the big outdoor stage at Gfoehl and the quarry at Winzendorf play “Winnetou” by Karl May. A fast-paced, humorous and advanced staging of the popular Winnetou classic for young and old. Played in Wild West costumes, with a total of 50 actors and 17 horses, sharp rides, a Western horse and a lot of funny gags. Dive into the world of the Wild West in an original Western town right on the festival site!

SOUTH OF VIENNA
Try to discover Palace Laxenburg with its huge forest and very old trees, a former hunting ground of the emperor. Large meadows invite for a picnic. Kids love this place due to a big playground and the boats, the little train and the pony wagon, which may be rented to get around the large park. Inside Castle Franzensburg is a restaurant on an island which can be reached with a ferry.
Go to Kirchberg am Wechsel and explore the cavity Hermannshoehle with lots of speleothems and bats. There is a very good restaurant, Ramswirt at Gloggnitz. Every weekend at 2.30 pm the owner takes the guests with his bull train to his farm and presents his star, an 3600 pound bull. On his observation tower you have a great view. The kids enjoy the playground and the petting zoo.
There is a beautiful gorge suitable for children at Muggendorf: the Myrafaelle with waterfalls, a water playground at the beginning and another playground on top. Children also like the Hohe Wand Nature Park nearby, which offers a petting zoo, a game reserve, an adventure trail, a playing field, skywalks and a lookout tower. Hohe Wand_Folder English/Hungarian
